About H. Gregory Mermel, C.P.A., P.C.
Greg Mermel, C.P.A.
Greg Mermel, a native of Houston, came to Chicago for graduate school and never left. He has a B.A.
from the University of Texas at Austin,
an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and a Certificate from the Harvard
University Institute in Arts Administration.
After some years with a national CPA firm, he established his own practice in
1980 in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. He was also for
a number of years active as a theatrical producer and manager
in Chicago. Since 1991, he has been the author of the popular
“Money and Taxes” column for PerformInk. He also taught
federal taxation in the Management Department of Columbia
College for several years.
Josh Goldman, C.P.A.
Josh Goldman was born in Newburgh, New York, and was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his B.A. in accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a minor in philosophy.
Prior to moving to Chicago, Josh worked for two years in a national accounting firm’s audit practice in Baltimore. He is looking forward to learning about and exploring Chicago.
Liza Torres
Liza Torres was born in Puerto Rico, moved to New York when she was five, and moved to Chicago in 2002. Since being at H. Gregory Mermel, CPA, she has decided that she really likes public accounting and wants to make a career in it.
